Weight Management (Bariatric Program)
Patients must be referred to this program by our endocrinologist. After the patient is evaluated, and they are found to be an appropriate candidate for gastric bypass surgery; the patient participates in this program for six months. The goal of the program is to provide information about the surgical procedure, and support the patient with their decision. Basic nutrition principles, meal planning, importance of exercise, smart shopping tips, stress management techniques, dining out guidelines and recipe modification are discussed.
The public is welcome to come into High Desert Medical Group, Conference Room 1, at any time between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the fourth Friday of the month to pick up free, up-to-date information.
All Health Education program are FREE of charge to HDMG members!
