Cervical Cancer Screening - Cervical Cancer is detected by regular pap smears and gynecological exams.
It is recommended that women age 21 through 64 have a yearly cervical screening. Contact your primary care physician to schedule an appointment.
According to the recent studies, about 55 million cervical cancer screenings are performed in the US each year. Approximately 3.5 million (6 percent) are abnormal and require follow-up. These abnormalities can be treated before cancer develops. Fewer women die each year from cancer of the uterus because they have had regular screenings and exams.
