As a new member you can select or change your Primary Care Physician at any time. Contact our Member Services team by calling (800) 266-4364. Once your new PCP is selected, a new card will be available from your health plan by mail or online. If you don’t receive it within 2-3 weeks, please contact your health plan directly.
Your PCP might refer you to a specialist, such as a cardiologist, endocrinologist, or other physician who will care for your specific medical needs. However, some services will need to be pre-authorized before they can be performed.
Here’s how it works:
- Your PCP will refer you to a specialist by submitting a prior authorization request.
- The timeline to receive an authorization varies, but on average, they are processed within 3 to 10 business days.
- The prior authorization is mailed directly to your address on record.
- Your specialist physician is responsible for any follow-up requests that you will need after your initial appointment.
