Health Care Assistant (HCA)

For the convenience of our patients, High Desert Medical Group and Heritage Health Care provide laboratory services through Labcorp. The laboratory offers a wide variety of services including clinical chemistries, hematologic, urinalysis, serological and microbiological testing. The laboratory accepts lab requests from all our providers and specialists. All test results are electronically transmitted directly to your physician.

Managing multiple or ongoing medical conditions can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our Complex Care Management (CCM) Program is here to support you and your family every step of the way.

High Desert Medical Group employs a team of social services professionals to assists patients and families with complex social situations. This team consists of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and social services designees (SSD). Our LCSWs assist with front line counseling, urgent mental health concerns and substance abuse matters. Our SSDs work with patients and families in a variety of settings to assist with placement, advanced care planning and a variety of other social concerns. The mission of the HDMG social services team is to help enhance the members well-being, and to assist in solving problems related to complex needs that many of our patient’s experience. Please call 661-945-5984 should you need assistance.

Regular self-breast exams, as well as mammography can detect breast cancer. If you are a female age 40-74, it is recommended that you have a mammogram yearly or every other year, depending on your age. Check with your health care provider to see how often you should get your screening mammogram. 

Cervical Cancer is detected by regular pap smears and gynecological exams. If you are a female between the ages of 21 to 64 who did not have a cervical screening within the last three years, please schedule your appointment today. 

Childhood Immunization - State of being immune to or protected from disease, esp. an infectious disease by means of vaccination.

Diabetes is a chronic condition where the pancreas produces too little or no insulin, causing blood sugar levels to be elevated. When diabetes is not properly monitored and controlled, it can lead to complications that can be disabling and even life-threatening.

Comprehensive Screening Exam: To promote preventive care and wellness. If you are between the ages of 19 to 39, please have this exam every three years. For ages 40 to 64, please have the exam every two years, and every year if you are 65 or older.

As an enhancement to your Primary Care Physician’s healthcare plan, we offer a complimentary exam for our Medicare Advantage and Cal Medic-Connect patients.

As a member of HDMG/HHC we ensure our members have access to potentially lifesaving cancer screenings. We have made it easy to access an annual pap smear (cervical cancer screening) and breast examination. These services are available with both Primary Care Providers or OBGYN’s. Our members can choose any HDMG contracted Board-Certified OBGYN for their Well Woman Care by calling to schedule an appointment (referrals are not needed). Also, for your convenience, screening mammograms are available to our members with only a provider’s order, which does not require prior authorization.
